On March 15, 2023, at the hall of Kon Ka Kinh National Park, Ayun Commune, Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province, a conference was held to evaluate and analyze the potential strengths and tourism resources of the De Kjieng village.
This is one of the activities in the Micro Grant (MG), namely “Organizing workshops to orient sustainable tourism development in De Kijeng village in the buffer zone of Kon Ka Kinh National Park”, which is implemented by the Youth Union of Ayun commune. This project is a part of the 2nd phase Small Grants Programme (SGP II) funded by the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) and the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW), facilitated by the Institute of Resources and Environment (IREN) as the Service Provider.
Participants in the conference were Mr. Ha Van Hung – Assistant Chief Technical Advisor of SGP II, Mr. Dinh Tien Tai – Representative of the Institute of Resources and Environment, Mr. Ngo Van Thang – Acting director of Kon Ka Kinh National Park, Representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Representative of Mang Yang District People’s Committee, Representative of Culture Department of Mang Yang District, Director of A Ngui Tourism Service Unit, and 80 local people in De Kjieng village.
At the conference, Representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism representative gave a speech on the advantages of the policy to support the development of community tourism in Gia Lai province in the coming time. Besides, there is a presentation by the Culture Department, Mang Yang district on orientations to support the development of tourism in De Kjieng village in the period of 2023 – 2025.
Mrs. Ngo Thi Kieu Thao – Director of A Ngui Tourism Service Co., Ltd. – had a speech to evaluate and analyze the potential strengths and tourism resources of the village of De Kjieng. Mr. Angui – A tourism expert – gave a report to encourage participants to discuss solutions to develop tourism in De Kjieng village, and suggested to establish village tourism service groups, connecting delegates to register to join service groups.
