On March 15, 2023, at the Community House of De Bo Tuk village, Dak Jo Ta commune, Mang Yang district, Gia Lai province, a raising native black pigs training session took place.

This is one of the activities in the Micro Grant (MG), namely “Support to develop a model of native black pig raising for households in De Bo Tuk village to improve their livelihoods” which is implemented by the Farmers’ Association of Dak Jo Ta commune. This project is a part of the 2nd phase Small Grants Programme (SGP II) funded by the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) and the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW), facilitated by the Institute of Resources and Environment (IREN) as the Service Provider.

Participants in the training session were Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang – Director of the Institute of Resources and Environment, Mrs. Iang – Leader of the Farmers’ Association of Dak Jo Ta Commune, the training expert, and representatives of 30 households who are beneficiaries of the project.

At the training session, the training expert presented the techniques of breeding and raising native black pigs to increase productivity and economic income for local households participating in the project.
